Hi all, I’ve got asked a lot about using my designs for commercial use. I would like to let you know my thoughts. The short answer is a no. I would like to keep my designs as unique as possible. If you see the same things everywhere, they are not special anymore. The long answer is you might sell at local markets or fairs for less than 100 physical items. You can not sell on any digital platforms like Etsy, Facebook or Instagram. I own an Etsy shop since 2015, I know how to make money with my designs. I choose not to. Please do not share my designs and claim them as your own. If you would like to share, please link back to my Youtube. This is the basic respect I deserve. Please do not use my designs to gain more followers on social media. An incident happened this week. Someone use my designs and livestream a workshop on Facebook. She gave out my designs as her own, in her defence, she changed the colours so it is her design now. What hurt me the most, was her followers commenting on how generous she is to share such beautiful design. While I asked her to stop the livestream immediately (she did not), she was singing on livestream while I sat in front of my computer, distressed. It shocked me. I thought by offering free designs, people should be happy. I didn’t expect some people would want more. They would want to make a profit from something that is free and does not belong to them. Why do I offer free designs? Because I want to. After 3 years of pandemic, we could all help to make the world a better place. I truly want to bring joy to you. A teacher in Brazil uses my designs in her class. A lady lost her job during the pandemic told me my designs offer her comfort. A grandmother makes my design for her granddaughter’s birthday. So many wonderful stories from you. I love them all. What happened this week was very upsetting. I would love to create more designs and share them with you. I need your help to protect my intellectual property. Finally, a special shout out for those who talked sense to me while the incident was happening this week. Thank you for reporting the person. Thank you for letting me know there are more good people in the world.
